Tigers Move to 20-0 with Win over Faulkner (1-21-08)
The Georgetown College Tigers continued their perfect season with a 94-78 win over visiting Faulkner University on Monday.
The #2 Tigers came out with a quick 23-9 lead behind the sharp shooting of Kyle Saxton and Gus Chase, who combined totaled 14 of the first 23 points. Chase ended the game with 21 while Saxton added 16.
Faulkner was able to narrow the scoring margin in the second half, adding 42 points compared to Georgetown’s 44, but it was not enough. The Eagles, who were a NAIA Final Four team last season, fell to 9-10 on the year and were led by Richarde McCray, who had 15.
Georgetown junior Demetrius Guions was the only player on either team to record a double-double, scoring 17 and grabbing 13 rebounds.
