Guions Named MSC Player of the Week (1-22-08)
The
Mid-South Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week award has
been given to Demetrius Guions of Georgetown College.
The 6'5 junior guard averaged 21.3 points and 9.3 rebounds in three Tiger victories last week. The Radcliff native hit for 23 points and 9 boards in a 90-61 rout of Spalding University. He added 19 and 7 in Georgetown's 79-74 win at IU-Southeast and finished with a double-double of 22 points and 12 boards against Olivet Nazarene in the 79-67 victory for the Tigers.
Georgetown is still a perfect 20-0 this season and currently ranked #2 in the NAIA. The Tigers will open Mid-South Conference play this Saturday against an equally tough Tiger squad from Campbellsville University, currently ranked tenth. Tip-off of the men’s game will follow the women’s basketball match-up between the same schools at 2:00 p.m. in Georgetown.
