Tigers Continue Perfect Season; Both Georgetown Teams Undefeated in MSC (1-31-08)

Seniors Justin Taylor and Kim Ingle both showed poise on the floor, leading their teams to conference wins over Pikeville College on Thursday. Ingle finished the night with 17 points, two rebounds, two blocks and a steal. The Georgetown College Tigers continued their perfect season in dramatic style with a 87-79 overtime win over visiting #10 Pikeville College on Thursday.

The #2 Tigers were led by senior Gus Chase who tallied a double-double with 19 points and ten rebounds. Pikeville, who came in with a 14 game winning streak and a 10th-ranking in Wednesday's Coaches' Poll, were led by William Harris with 19 points. Teammate Jeff Ferguson also had a double-double, scoring 18 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.

In the first game of the doubleheader, the Georgetown Women's Basketball Team moved to 2-0 in conference play and 14-6 overall with a 74-43 win over the Lady Bears. Jayme Gilbert and Kim Ingle led the scoring with 17 points each.

Up next both teams will play at the University of the Cumberlands. Tipoff for the double-header is at 2:00 p.m.
