Women's Tennis Beats Bellarmine 9-0 (2-11-08)
Georgetown
College Women's Tennis notched the team's first win of the season with a
9-0 win at Bellarmine University on Saturday. In the nine matches
played, Georgetown only gave up two sets to Bellarmine, who beat the
Tigers 8-1 last year with nearly the same lineup.
"It was a great win and an outstanding way to begin the year," said Head
Coach Kevin Calhoun. "I expect big things from this team."
Georgetown's women's team is currently ranked 22nd and the men are 27th in the latest coaches' poll released last week. The win at Bellarmine improved the women's record to 1-1. The men will begin their season on February 22nd at Eastern Kentucky University.
