Dancers Fare Well at Summer Camp (7/31/07)
The Georgetown College Dance Team received a Superior Trophy at the Universal Dance Association's Collegiate Spirit Camp held July 27-29 in Knoxville, Tennessee. The Superior Trophy was one of only four awarded during the camp with both NCAA and NAIA schools from all divisions, including the University of Kentucky and host, the University of Tennessee. The dancers were evaluated on routines and received numerous blue ribbons. Congratulations on this big accomplishment to the 2007 Georgetown Tiger Dancers, including members Angela Earwood, Brittany Carpenter, Becky Staton, Katy Lawrence, Christa Hedgespeth, Loran Brown, Sara Dehner, Denielle Shelley and Jerica Howard.
"Camp was a wonderful experience for our team," said Coach Tasha Hagen. "We learned lots of new material for the upcoming season and most importantly, the team worked hard to earn a superior trophy."
Hagen says she is excited about this year's team and for the season to begin " The dancers have positive attitudes and dedication that will make this one of the best years for the Tiger Dancers. They have been taking technique classes this summer and I am amazed how far they have come."
