Jessica Collins Scores a Hole in One (9-17-2009)

 

Georgetown College golfer, Jessica Collins hit a hole in one on Sept. 11, the second of her Tiger career.

Collins' single shot occurred during the Bill Sergent Invitational hosted by the University of the Cumberlands at Crooked Creek Golf Course in London, Ky.  Collins pulled a 7-iron on the par three, second hole when she dropped it in the cup from 138 yards away.

Jessica's first hole in one was tallied in Bardstown, Ky. during in a practice round at Maywood Country Club in 2008.  It came on the 17th hold from 167 yards away. 

Women's Golf Wins the Bluegrass Fall Classic (9-17-2009)

 

Congratulations to the Georgetown College Women's Golf Team for winning the Bluegrass Fall Classic on Sept. 16 at the TIgers' home course, Cherry Blossom Golf Club.  The Tigers shot a 329 for the day and were lead by Madison Wallace, with a eight-over 80 .  Pictured above are team members (l to r): Jessica Collins, Madison Wallace, Emily Drake, Lauren Kohake and Marlene Nall and Coach Flash Williams.

Heavens Honored by Mid-South Conference (4-22-09)

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Georgetown College sophomore Christian Heavens is the Mid-South Conference Men's Golfers of the Week for the week ending April 18, according to the conference.

Heavens shot a one-over par 145 (75-70) at the Bluegrass Spring Classic at Cherry Blossom Golf Club to earn his first weekly conference honor of the season.

The Fairview Heights, Ill., native, won the 24-man tournament by one shot to help the Tigers capture the team title.

Heavens produced the low round of the tournament in second round, firing a two-under par 70 over the par-72, 6,838 yard venue.

 

 

Athletics Honors 87 Student-Athletes with Letter Jackets (12-8-08)

Georgetown College Director of Athletics Eric Ward awarded 87 letter jackets to the 2007 Letterman Class in the annual ceremony held Sunday, December 7 at Alumni Gymnasium.

Student-athletes were given jackets for earning their first varsity letter in athletics at the school.  The criteria for being a letterwinner is determined by each sport's coaching staff.
