The 2007-08 season marks Robert "Flash" Williams'
twelfth year as
head coach of the Georgetown College women's and men's golf teams.
He has the distinction of being the first-ever women's golf coach at Georgetown College since the program was introduced as a varsity sport. In the inaugural season, Williams lead the Lady Tigers to a third place finish in the Mid-south Conference.
As a seasoned golfer with over 41 years on the links, Williams has served on the boards of the Lexington Children's Golf Classic and Golf Holiday in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
He is a 1966 graduate of Georgetown College, where he earned bachelor's degrees in communication and business administration. He is a retired public relations professional having served nearly 30 years with the GTE Corporation.
In addition to serving as Women's Golf Coach, Williams has also served the college as the Coordinator for Strategic Initiatives, interim-Alumni Director, and as a consultant to the development staff.
He and his wife Carol have one daughter, Lindsay, who is a graduate of Georgetown College. They reside in Georgetown.
