A
lifelong resident of Georgetown, Thomas Thornton is in his 6th
year as the Tiger Softball Team Head Coach. Thornton begins
his tenth season with the Georgetown program having previously
serving two years as an assistant coach and two years as a
student assistant coach, although not consecutively.
After serving two years as an assistant coach and helping the Tigers to consecutive Mid-South Tournament championships, Thornton continued the trend. In four years under his direction, the Tigers have won two MSC regular season titles, as well as one MSC Tournament title. The 2004 team was also the Region XI Tournament runner-up.
Previous to Georgetown, Thornton served as an assistant coach at Scott County for four years. He helped the varsity win three District 32 titles and compiled a 59-20 record at the head of the junior varsity program.
Thomas is a 1993 graduate of Georgetown College, where he earned his bachelor's degree in Physical Education. While attending Georgetown, he served as a student trainer for both the football and women's basketball programs. Thornton earned his Masters of Education from Georgetown in 2000.
Jamie
Conliffe enters her fourth season with the Georgetown program. She is a
graduate of West Chester University in West Chester, Pennsylvania and a
former player for Georgetown College.
While at Georgetown, Conliffe assisted Head Coach Thomas Thornton with the Central Kentucky 16 & under Slammers summer team. She also was an assistant for St. Barnabus' third and fourth grade softball teams in Louisville, Ky.
Conliffe was a member of the 2001 and 2002 MSC Champion Lady Tigers Softball team.
Coach
Bryan Johnson is in his fifth year with Georgetown College Softball.
He primarily serves as pitching coach and assists with recruiting,
hitting and other aspects of the game. "My enthusiasm, love for the
game and players are what keep me coming back year after year," he
said.
Johnson played fast-pitch softball before serving his country in the
United States Marine Corps and playing on the Marine Corps team for
six years. He has been involved in softball in the Central
Kentucky area for the past 15 years and is the owner of United
Talent Sports Softball and Baseball Development and the co-founder
of the Kentucky Sidewinders.
Bryan and his wife, Kathleen, have been married for 19 years and
have two daughters, Rachel, who is a freshman member of Georgetown
College Softball, and Mallory, a high school junior with goals of
also playing collegiate softball.
Scott
enters his fourth season with the Georgetown program. He and his
family have resided in Scott County since 1997. He is a graduate of
the University of Louisville Speed Scientific School. He has played
on numerous softball travel teams and has been coaching softball and
baseball for the past nine years. He is currently coach of the
Kentucky Sidewinders summer team.
Coach Walters has been married to his wife, Mary, for 16 years. The couple has two children, Anthony and Alexandra.
