Georgetown College men split a pair of games this past week, but still jump a spot in the first poll of the New Year. The Tigers (14-2, 5-0) lost a tough game at Life University, 85-81, and rebounded with a 90-67 win over Shawnee State.

GC climbed one spot from No. 6 to No. 5 heading into a road week against University of the Cumberlands and No. 14 Lindsey Wilson.

The Tigers are ranked in the Top 20 nationally in 16 statistical categories. In six they are No. 4 - defensive rebounds per game, total rebounds per game, defensive field goal percentage, field goal percentage, total scoring and total total rebound offense.

Maurice Pearson is ranked in the Top 5 for total rebounds per game, field goal percentage, offensive rebounds per game and total total rebounds. He is seventh in defensive rebounds.

Johonne Hamilton has had quick hands this season, ranking No. 17 in total steals with 37. He had seven against Miami Hamilton, tying for fourth for most in a single game. For the complete poll click here.
