Women's Basketball - Sat, Jan. 14, 2012

Georgetown College women's basketball team came out strong in the second half, trimmed a double-digit deficit to four. But, Lindsey Wilson College responded with a 12-3 run and were never in danger again. The No. 20 Blue Raiders (14-5, 3-3 Mid-South Conference) won 88-73 behind Ashley Rainey's double-double - 29 points and 11 rebounds.

Jessica Waddle hit four threes to lead the No. 15 Tigers (12-6, 5-2). The senior guard got help from Gina Beining (11), Andrea Howard (10), Mikkah Rogers (10) and Devanny King (10).

Georgetown returns home for a pair of games next week. First up is a 6 pm tip Thursday against University of Rio Grande then a 2 pm tip Saturday against West Virginia Tech.

The Tigers still sit in second in the conference, tied with Shawnee State at 5-2. University of the Cumberlands, a 77-63 winner over the Bears also Saturday, sits on top at 6-0.
