Georgetown College men's basketball team used an 80-foot buzzer-beater for fuel in refocusing them for this week's home Mid-South Conference games. While the University of Rio Grande matchup was at times slower and not pretty, the final result is exactly what GC coach Chris Briggs wanted an 88-57 win.

Five Tigers (16-3, 7-1) reached double-figures led behind Jordan DeMercy's 20 points. Allan Thomas scored 17, Johonne Hamilton 13, Maurice Pearson 11 and Garel Craig 10.

Rio (10-9, 2-5) was led by Jermaine Warmack's and Dominick Haynes' 11 points each.

Georgetown returns to action Saturday 4 pm, hosting West Virginia Tech.
