St. Catharine College started a rally late in the first half and used the momentum to take control against No. 4 Georgetown College Thursday in Springfield. The Patriots, which are receiving votes, trailed by 13 late in the first half. But, trimmed that to six heading in the break and eventually won 93-87 in overtime.

The Tigers (17-4, 7-2) remain in a tie at the top of the Mid-South Conference standings as Lindsey Wilson College also fell Thursday to University of Virginia College at Wise.

Johonne Hamilton scored a career-high 27 points to lead Georgetown. His previous best was 22 against LWC his sophomore season. The senior guard was 9-of-15 from the field, including 2-of-4 from deep, and went 7-of-8 from the foul line. Geral Craig also had a career-high with 21 points. Tyrone Shelley had 13 points, while Jordan DeMercy and Maurice Pearson had 10 each.

SCC (9-8, 5-4) was led by Melo Smith's 20 points. Delonte Taylor and Travis Wilkins each had 19 and Brandon Johnson contributed 15 in the win.

GC returns to action Saturday at Campbellsville. Tip is set for 4 pm.
