Georgetown College women's basketball came out a bit slow, but weathered the feisty University of Pikeville Bears Thursday for a 66-51 win. It was a tied before a 13-1 run gave GC a 28-16 lead heading into the break.

Andrea Howard led the offense with 15 points, while Jessica Waddle had 13. Devon Golden ripped down 14 boards and Lizza Jonas had 13 to help the No. 18 Tigers (16-7, 8-3) to a 56-30 advantage on the glass.

Brogan Conley had 18 points for UPike (4-19, 0-11) and Whitney Jackson added 10.

GC returns to action 2 pm Saturday hosting University of Virginia College at Wise.
