Georgetown College men's basketball avoided a scare, rallying from a 14-2 start to beat University of the Cumberlands, 71-63. The No. 10 Tigers (20-6, 10-4) trailed most of the night against a scrappy Patriots (15-10, 7-6) team.
Maurice Pearson led the way with 20 points and nine rebounds, while Anthony Crater and Garel Craig added 10 each.
The win sets up a conference showdown for top spot security when GC welcomes Lindsey Wilson College on Senior Day. Lindsey defeated the Tigers in Columbia by a last second, 80-foot shot. Tip is set for 8 pm.
