Baseball - Sun, Mar. 11, 2012
Freshman Tyler Arthur settled down after the first
inning, where he allowed a third of the hits and the only run in a 5-1 win
Sunday against Lindsey Wilson College. Georgetown College baseball improves to
18-3 overall and 3-3 in the conference, while the Blue Raiders fall to 12-8 and
Arthur gave up a double and a single that scored Adam
Peacock, but he also struck three batters out in that first half of work. He
pitched eight complete innings, striking out nine and scattering six hits. The
Lexington native got his team-leading fourth win and has yet to lose in the
Orange & Black.
He got a lot of help from his offense. Randy Guite, David
Higuera, Jordan Hinshaw and Tanner Baldwin all got two hits. Higuera added two
RBI and a run scored to his hitting stats.
The Tigers responded to the early LWC lead with three
hits and two runs in the bottom of the first. They tacked on runs in the third,
fourth and eighth for the final margin of victory.
GC returns to action hosting Asbury Tuesday for a
doubleheader. First pitch is set for 4 pm at Robert N. Wilson Field.
