David Higuera, a starter for Georgetown's Baseball team, has been named this week's Mid-South Conference Baseball player of the week. This is Higuera's first Player of the Week title.
The freshman starter, from Upland, CA, completed the week with a .450 hitting, alongside a home run and nine RBIs. Higuera helped the Georgetown Tigers to a perfect 5-0 record against the ranked teams, as well as those who received votes in the NAIA national poll.
With an 18-8 win over No. 7 ranked Cumberland University, Higuera produced his best game, coming out with six RBI, three hits and a grand slam in the win.
On the overall season, Higuera is batting .439 with 22 RBIs, for an overall ranking of 12th in the Mid-South Conference. The freshman has had five doubles, 15 runs scored and a home run.
The Tiger Baseball team is 26-4 on the season and 7-4 in the MSC.
