Georgetown College's Kayla Williams has been named the Mid-South Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week.
The freshman from Diamond, Ohio picked up two wins without allowing one run to covet the conference's top weekly pitching honor.
Williams has allowed just four hits in her 12 innings of work this past week. The pitcher also gained eight strikeouts in the two wins.
Williams helped in a six-inning relief effort in the game against UVa-Wise, in which the Tigers came out victorious with a 6-4 win and picked up a mercy-rule, six inning win over Midway College, with an 8-0 score.
Thus far, Williams ranks in the second spot in the MSC and is ranked nationally as 11th, allowing just 0.52 walks per nine innings. She has allowed only three walks in the season with 51-2/3 innings pitched.
Williams is also ranked 10th in the conference in ERA (2.44) and ninth in opponent's batting average (.216).
The Georgetown Tigers softball team is currently 17-9 on the season and 6-2 in the MSC.
