Georgetown College softball made a conference trip to Shawnee State University and came away with a split. The Tigers (24-10, 11-3) won the opening game 2-0, but fell 5-2 to stay in third heading into the final two and a half weeks of Mid-South Conference action.

They will travel to University of the Cumberlands tomorrow, then host St. Catharine (Senior Day), Campbellsville University and Lindsey Wilson. GC might also play UC one more time since the home series with the Patriots has been rained out twice, but at present time nothing has been decided.

Michelle Dresselhaus continued her solid pitching ways - striking out eight of the 22 batters she faced. She has 98 fanned hitters on the year, including 18 this past week.

Katie Mann continued her hitting streak, going 2-of-3 from the plate with a run scored in the first game win. Tori Shover and Cassidy Taylor had an RBI each, while Jordan Clemons scored the other run.

The Bears (18-8, 10-6) scored five runs in the first five innings to pick up the split with Georgetown. The Tigers managed just a run in the top of the fifth and seventh.

Hillary Plain led from the plate, going 2-of-2 with two runs scored. Taylor Shaw had the lone RBI of the second game.
