February 22, 2007- Tigers Baseball was on the road once again Wednesday afternoon playing Morehead State University. Georgetown's successful pitching and scoring spoiled the Eagles' season opener. The Tigers beat Morehead 10-2.

"This was a great win for us and our program. Our guys went over there expecting to win" said Georgetown Head Coach Erik Hagen. "And it showed."

Sophomore Brandon Slusher pitched the first four innings for Georgetown allowing only four hits and two runs. This was the second win for Slusher as pitcher. Two other Georgetown pitchers contributed to the win. Nick Roberts pitched four hitless innings, while the ninth inning belonged to Anthony Williams who struck out the side.

The Tigers' scoring was explosive early, plating two runs in the first after Bonner hit a double to score Armstrong and Severson. The onslaught of runs continued in the third, fourth and fifth innings, plating three in the third, two in the fourth, and two in the fifth. After the top of the fourth inning Georgetown had posted an impressive 7-0 lead. Six of Georgetown's position players had a multiple hit game.

The Tigers (4-0) look to keep their winning streak alive, as they open at home this weekend with two double headers against #21 Ohio Dominican University. First pitch is set for 1:00 Saturday and 12:00 Sunday. "This is a huge weekend for us" said Hagen. "Ohio Dominican is a perennial top 25 team in the country and NAIA World Series participant."
