Georgetown College wrapped up Mid-South Conference regular season play, splitting a pair with No. 21 Lindsey Wilson College. A late decision changed the time frame to play conference opponents and left the Tigers unable to get in rain-out make-ups with University of the Cumberlands.

In order to win the regular season title, though, GC needed to sweep LWC Saturday. The Blue Raiders scored six runs with two outs, three apiece in the top of the sixth and seventh, to hold on for the 7-6 title deciding win.

"We knew what we had to do and didn't," said Tiger coach Thomas Thornton. "They didn't give up, either time we got way behind. I like to see that. We battled, but there is a reason why Lindsey is ranked in the Top 25."

The Tigers opened a 4-0 lead in the second game and then weathered a late rally by the Blue Raiders. They won 4-3 and secured second place in the conference.
