"Lauren is a tremendous addition to our 2012 class," Griffin said. "Her athleticism, speed and competitiveness will allow her to challenge as both an outside hitter and defensive specialist."
Mercy was 143-20 during her four years along with two Kentucky State Championships in 2008 and 2009 and a 2010 runner-up finish. For three of her four seasons, Mercy finished ranked by Prepvolleyball.com in the Top 20 nationally.
Schneidtmiller also had individual success throughout high school - 2011 All-Catholic Volleyball First Team, 2011 All-State Second Team, 2010 All-State Honorable Mention, two-time All-Region Team, and 2010 Catholic Schools Excellence Award.
Throughout her club career, she played on the elite teams for Union (2012) and MAVA (2006-2011) where her teams finished in the Top 20 in the Open Division of the AAU National Championships every year. This season her Union team placed in the Top 5 at the JVA Mideast Power League.
Schneidtmiller is no stranger to collegiate athletics either. She has an older sister who plays field hockey for University of Louisville. Two of her cousins were All-American volleyball players at Western Kentucky University and University of Illinois."She has succeeded at the highest levels throughout her high school and club careers and carries a swagger that is infectious to those around her," Griffin said.
