Women's Basketball - Tue, May. 15, 2012

Andrea McCloskey has signed her second 2012 recruit class member in Jessica Foster.

The 6-foot-1 post player is a welcomed addition to the Georgetown College Tiger women's basketball program. With the graduation of Shavon Scott and Gina Beining, coach McCloskey is even thinner at the low block position.

GC returns freshman standout Devanny King and sophomore sensation Lizza Jonas. Devon Golden is versatile, playing both guard and post, but another big, athletic body is what the Tigers needed.

Foster comes from Ripley County in Versailles, IN. She averaged 17.6 points per game and 8.6 rebounds per game this past season.

"Jess is a very versatile player who is really going to fit well into our program," said McCloskey.

Foster hit 57 percent from the field this past season, helping her team to a school-record 21 wins.

Her accomplishments on the court spilled over into off the court accolades. She received 20th Annual Excellence Award from Ripley Publishing for Outstanding Offensive and Defensive Play. She earned the 2011-12 Rebounding Award, IHSAA Sportsman Athletic Role Model for the State, All-Conference Team, All-Ripley County, All-Sectional, HBCA All-Star and Class 2A All-Star.
