Pete Sampras, Andy Roddick and Serena Williams, are some of the names people associate with the fastest tennis serve. Now there is an opportunity for all interested to test their own service speed while helping Georgetown College's tennis program fundraise.

Coach Jessica Cunningham and her husband Michael will be running the Serve Cage at the upcoming USTA Fifth Third Tennis Championships. The tournament will be from July 22-29 at the University of Kentucky's Hilary J. Boone Complex off Cooper Drive. For two dollars, a participant will get four attempts and for five get 10 serves that will be clocked by a radar gun.

"We get three time slots to run the spot," Cunningham said. "Our current players will be out there and hopefully some of GC's other faculty and staff will be able to stop by during our times."

GC will be running it Sunday from noon to 6 pm and then Monday and Tuesday from noon to 9 pm. All proceeds collected during those times will go to tennis. Some current players on hand will be: Zach Thomas, Jacqueline Otis, Shelby Eden, Haley Hart and Ben Scott.

For more information contact Michael Cunningham at 859-421-0164.
