The No. 14th ranked Georgetown College baseball Tigers
will be honoring their Mid-South Conference Tournament Championship before the
first home football game Sept. 6 at Toyota Stadium.
The 28 varsity players and three coaches will come onto
the new iHigh Field to receive their rings and have a chance to enjoy the
moment in front of their own fans. The Tigers handed Shawnee State a 3-0 loss
on April 28 in the MSC tournament finals. They outscored opponents 21-5 in four
games, with a pair of shutouts to bookend the historic moment.
"It was our first tournament title in this conference. We
had a great season and when it was time to celebrate it, school was out and no
one was here," said GC coach Micah Baumfeld. "That is the way it goes with
spring sports, but what an honor now to be able to do this ceremony before the
first home football game.

in a game under the lights on the new turf field and then make a weekend of the
The alumni game, normally held during Homecoming weekend,
will be Sept. 8 on Robert N. Wilson Field with the annual golf open being Sept.
9. Teams of four will play scramble format golf with a shotgun start at 8:30 am
at Kearney Hill Golf Links. Top three teams will win prizes with several
contest prizes available as well. Cost is $100 per player if the team is
registered before Sept. 1 and $125 after.
