Frankfort, Ky. - The Georgetown College Tigers finished strong with a 79-69 win over Mid-Continent in the Mid-South Conference Challenge on Saturday.

Frankfort, Ky. - The Georgetown College Tigers finished strong with a 79-69 win over Mid-Continent in the Mid-South Conference Challenge on Saturday.

Georgetown improved to 6-1 on the year with the win.

In the first half the Tigers spread out the scoring, with nine players on the board, and gained a 14 point lead at the end of the first period. But the Cougars (5-6), fought back behind the sharp-shooting of Kenny Thomas, who finished the game with 22 points, 16 in the second half.

The Tigers were led by point guard Eddie Gray.  The Cincinnati native finished with 21 and added three rebounds and three assists.

Georgetown will host the 14th Annual Jim Reid Classic on Dec. 4-5 in Alumni Gymnasium where they will face Life University on Friday.  Tipoff is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
