Georgetown College softball coach Thomas Thornton rounded out his team for the 2012-13 season by adding three more - Sandy Young, Rachel Simms and Shelby Dees.

Young was the catcher for the 2011 Kentucky High School Athletic Association State Champions Allen County Scottsville. The Patriots were 148-28-2 during her four years. Young's abilities are not limited to only the catcher position as Thornton also looks to utilize her talent in a utility role.

Simms helped Bullitt East to the state tournament this season. She will play multiple positions in her first couple of years at Georgetown.

Dees is from Eminence High School. The Warriors steadily improved each of her four years, going from just three wins Dees freshman year to 13 this past season.

"I'm really excited about my team this year," Thornton said. "Sandy, Rachel and Shelby are good adds to help us. All have a good variety of skills that helps me be free to use them where I need them."
