Women's basketball advanced to the Fab Four this past season, but it is the young ladies commitment to the entire student-athlete experience that has coach Andrea McCloskey very proud.
"For the second year in a row we are in the (Women's Basketball Coaches Association) Top 25 for academics," said the second-year coach. "Success on the floor is an obvious goal, but I want to see my team every year excelling in the classroom."
The Tigers 3.363 team grade-point average has them ranked No. 21. Only one other Mid-South Conference school even made the list, which includes both NAIA Division I and II schools.
"I am very proud of what our ladies have done on the floor and in the classroom this past season," McCloskey said. "I look forward to having the same success."
Georgetown had the most MSC Academic All-Conference honorees this past March at the banquet with seven and the most NAIA Daktronics Scholar Athletes with four.
The Tigers tip off their season Nov. 9 and 10 in the Habitat Classic.
