In early May, Vescio Sport Fields and Partners began work on the new iHigh.com Field at Georgetown College's Toyota Stadium and Friday the Tigers took to the new surface for the first time.

With the turf at home, Georgetown will not play one regular season game on a natural surface. The field came together through the partnership of iHigh.com, owned by Jim Host, GC Athletic Director Brian Evans and Scott County High School.

Friday evening, the Cardinals will be the first team to play on the new surface. The Tigers will not be on the field until Sept. 1 when men's soccer hosts its Georgetown Classic. The football Tigers hit the turf for their first home game Sept. 6 under the lights on a Thursday evening. Faulkner University will be the first opponent on a night filled with ceremonies.

This is the night GC's is calling for 10,000 Tigers with the idea to get all alumni, students, fans, faculty and staff joining together as one Tiger Nation in presence or through following on iHigh.com/georgetowncollege, Tweeter at GCAthletics or Facebook at GC Athletics.

Baseball will hand out rings before the game, while the 1982 men's basketball team - recently inducted as a team into the GC Hall of Fame - will be recognized at halftime. Between the first and second quarter, iHigh.com employees will be honored for their efforts in making the long awaited surface a reality.
