Georgetown College women's soccer player Kelsey Givens
earns her first Mid-South Conference Defensive Player of the Week honor
announced Monday afternoon by the league office. The freshman from Richmond,
Ky. stonewalled a pair of opponents this past week.
She started with five saves and no goals allowed in 90
minutes against NCAA Division II Kentucky Wesleyan. She had a repeat
performance against MSC foe Shawnee State University - five saves, no goals in

minutes in goal with 18 saves. She is second in the conference in goals against
average - 0.63.
This is the first player of the week honor for the women's
soccer team and only the second week offensive and defensive players have been
named by the MSC.
