Women's Golf - Wed, Sep. 19, 2012

Georgetown College women's golf team had a rough couple of days in the Mid-South Conference Fall match at Campbellsville Country Club. Both days were filled with rain showers that caused the course to be slower and at times more difficult. The Tigers finished sixth against league opponents and seventh overall.

Lauren Kohake led the way with a 27th finish with a two-day total of 185. Haley Hart was just behind Kohake with a 187 and a 29th finish. Katie Jones carded the best round of the group, rebounding from a tough first day to hand in an 89 on day two for a total of 191 and tied for 32nd. Corri Collins was the final scoring golfer for coach Flash Williams. She shot a two-day 198 to tie for 36th. Lauren Von Ohlen shot a 211 to tie for 43rd.

MSC newcomer Cumberland University, which played in GC's fall match this past weekend, continued to flex its golf muscle. The Bulldogs shot 625 for the tournament, 31 strokes ahead of second place finisher University of the Cumberlands.

CU also had the first and second individual winners - Katie Legge shot a 149 and teammate Allyson Agee shot a 156. Kayla Smith was tied for fourth with a 159.

The Patriots Liz Stephens' 158 was good for third.

The women do not play again until Oct. 15-16 at the St. Catharine Invitational.
