Saint Xavier, former No. 1 in the NAIA Coaches Top 25
football poll, lost this past Saturday to Saint Francis, opening up the
possibility for elevation in the standings for Georgetown College.
The Tigers took care of business against Bethel
University, winning 63-21, improving to 5-0 on the season and 1-0 in the
conference. Voters took notice. GC is now No. 2 in the nation and received
three first place votes.
Marian University moved from No. 2 to No. 1, while Saint Xavier
fell to No. 6 and Saint Francis jumped from No. 10 to No. 7.
The Mid-South Conference as a whole had a nice weekend
that translated in moves for all its Top 25 teams. University of the
Cumberlands (5-0, 2-0) jumped from No. 12 to No. 9 and Faulkner University went
from No. 25 to No. 22.
This is the highest ranking for Georgetown since being
No. 2 on Sept. 9, 2003.
