Cross Country - Tue, Oct. 9, 2012
Georgetown College men's and women's cross country team
will be racing in Georgetown's back yard this Friday afternoon with a chance
for its best finish all season.
"We are really exciting to be competing in this race
hosted by Kentucky State University," said men's coach Todd McDaniel."
The women's race starts at 3:15 pm in Frankfort with the
men to follow after the finish. The course will be at the Library and Archives
just off the East-West Connector.
"This is by far the closest race we've had to a home meet
in years," McDaniel said. "It would be great to see our fan base out there to
cheer on our runners. The past couple of years we have been in races in Berea,
but to be right here in Frankfort, maybe just 20 minutes away, is pretty
exciting for our athletes."
Tiger fans it would be a great way to kick off a great
weekend. Cheer on the Tiger harriers, then come back to campus for the men's
and women's tennis invitational and then come out Saturday for one of the
biggest matchups all season when No. 9 University of the Cumberlands comes to
town for football.
"It's a great weekend to be a Tiger," McDaniel said.
