Georgetown College volleyball ran the winning streak to 18 straight Thursday with a 25-10, 25-17, 25-12 win over Mid-South Conference opponent St. Catharine College. The No. 13 Tigers opened up early with 13 kills and a .329 hitting percentage on their way to taking care of business at home. GC improves to 19-2 overall and 9-0 in the conference, while the Patriots fall to 8-15 and 2-7.

The team starts a five match road swing that spans 11 days before coming home to play University of the Cumberlands Oct. 23.

"This was a good match to send us back on the road," said Tiger coach Nick Griffin. "Other than Campbellsville this past week, we have had a nice home stand. Now we go on the road and continue to get stronger. Traveling brings in a whole different element and if you are going to be one of those top teams in the end you have to get it done outside your gym."

Corri Muha led the attack with 11 kills on 20 attempts with just three errors for a .400 hitting percentage on the match. Rebekah Moore dug it up defensively with 21 digs. Lindsey Martindale had 10 digs and 24 assists.

GC returns to action Saturday at Union College's Tri-Match with the Bulldogs and Indiana University Southeast. The Tigers open with a noon match with IUSE and then a 3 pm showdown with thehost.
