Men's Cross Country - Mon, Oct. 15, 2012
Georgetown College's Cole Cisneros set a course record
this past Friday, earning him his first Mid-South Conference Men's Cross
Country Runner of the Week honors for the week ending in Oct. 13.
The freshman won the Kentucky State University Invitational,
while leading the team to a near perfect score. The Carmel, Ind. Native ran
8,000 meters in 27 minutes and 57 seconds, 13 seconds faster than his closest
competition - Nicholas Hall of Morehouse.
"This is really exciting," said Tiger coach Todd
McDaniel. "We haven't had a runner of the week since Tyler Doolittle opened the
season this past year with a win at Asbury.
"Cole has been running really well, and he just
demolished a really tough course in Frankfort. It is exciting to think about
the future of our program and to see how we stack up this weekend in Berea."
Cisneros led GC in dominant performance of seven runners
in the top 11 finishers, helping the Tigers to the overall title as well.
