Neal Pawsat threw for 383 yards and four touchdowns
Saturday against No. 9-ranked University of the Cumberlands, earning him his
first Mid-South Conference Offensive Player of the Week honor this season.
The sophomore from Maysville, Ky. completed 25 of his 47
pass attempts without an interception against one of the best defenses in the
NAIA. The Patriots came into the game averaging two picks a game.
Pawsat twice found Branden Burdette for touchdowns as
well as hitting Chris Gohman and Rob Madon on the day. He is four touchdowns
shy of tying the top 10 season leaders for scoring passes. The sophomore signal
caller is also just less than 600 yards shy of jumping on the season passing
list as well.
The win Saturday kept the Tigers undefeated and put them
in the driver's seat in the MSC East.
Pawsat leads the conference in total offense per game
(293.3 yards) and passing yards per game (295.4). His 19 touchdowns is second
and nationally he ranks fourth in passing and seventh in total offense.
The No. 2 Tigers return to action 1:30 pm Saturday at
University of Pikeville.
