Cross Country - Sun, Oct. 21, 2012

Georgetown College women's cross country continued its solid ways Saturday. The Tigers scored 49 points and finished fifth in the Southeastern Classic in Berea, after running a perfect race more than a week ago in Frankfort.

Tayler Godar led the way again with an eighth place finish in 19 minutes 38 seconds. The freshman was more than two minutes off the pace of fellow Mid-South Conference runner Sharon Ronoh, a senior at Lindsey Wilson College. However, in the team portion the Tigers edged the Blue Raiders, which finished sixth on the day. University of the Cumberlands had the best MSC team finish taking second in the 10 team race.

GC coach Betsy Laski had all her top runners finish in the top 35 as Rachel Ditto, Marissa Hale, Elisha Overpeck and Mary Jefferson were the other scorers Saturday.

Kristen Just and Kelsey Gregory also ran and finished in the top 50 runners.

The men finished 10th out of 12 teams with University of the Cumberlands, University of Rio Grande and Lindsey Wilson finishing added of them out of the conference opponents. Cumberland University and University of Virginia College at Wise finished behind the Tigers.

Cole Cisneros improved upon his course record of a week ago, dropping more than a minute off his time. The freshman ran the 8k in 26:46. In the Kentucky State University meet he ran a 27:57. Pate Anderson, Sam Heaton, Joseph Richey and Chris Bartlett were the other runners that score for Georgetown and all finished inside the top 50 runners.
