Georgetown College started sluggish Friday afternoon
against Indiana Tech and then battled to a five-set loss. The setback ends the
25-match streak, oddly enough to the hands of the same team that ended 2009's
21-match streak. The Warriors (21-9) won 25-22, 20-25, 15-25, 25-23, 15-9.
"The streak was exciting, but not what matters," said
Tiger coach Nick Griffin. "We are looking for measurements in how our team is
doing with postseason right around the corner."
The No. 11 Tigers (26-3) will have another huge test
tonight in a match with No. 5 Lee University. The Flames are the highest ranked
team in the 8th Annual Boneyard Brawl, but will also be coming in off a loss to
Point Park College, which is receiving votes. Match is set to start around 7
Rachel Eubanks led GC with 18 kills, while Allyson
Wilbourn added 15. Rebekah Moore had 22 digs and Lindsey Wise 10. Lindsey
Martindale had 27 assists and Stephanie Gurren added 25.
