Women's Soccer - Wed, Nov. 7, 2012
Georgetown College women's soccer had six honorable mention All-Mid-South Conference honorees Tuesday night at the banquet before the tournament semifinals and finals set for Wednesday and Thursday in Columbia, Ky.

Seniors Anna Ayers, Alex Harbowy, Alessandra Jansen and Caitlin Williams along with sophomores Sam Amend and Bea Cameron made up a third of the 18 on the list.

The team also had five All-Academic honorees, being of sophomore or higher standing and maintaining a 3.25 grade point average or higher. On that list were: Williams, Megan Melanson, Lauren Brooks, Morgan Zimmer and Lucy Davis.

The Tigers (10-6, 6-3) took care of the most important part of postseason, winning on the field. GC hosted for the fourth straight year a quarterfinal match-up. Amend, off an assist from Sarah Hencke, put the team ahead of St. Catharine. Georgetown never looked back.

Now the Tigers must face No. 3 Lindsey Wilson College in the semifinals in order to reach a fourth straight finals. If the Tigers dethrone the 10-time reigning champ, they will face the winner of Cumberland University-Campbellsville University at 6 pm Thursday.
