Men's Basketball - Sat, Dec. 1, 2012
Georgetown College men's basketball team did something it
has not done in more than a decade - loss back-to-back home conference games.
The No. 3 Tigers (7-3, 1-3 Mid-South Conference) battled Campbellsville University
(7-2, 3-2) to the bitter end, but came up short 70-65.
Both teams struggled early with CU holding a 26-21 edge
at the break. GC put together a 5-0 run to start the final 20 minutes, but that's
when Campbellsville exploded for the decisive 21-9 run.
Allan Thomas helped GC go on a 12-5 run, scoring 10 of
the 12 and cutting the deficit to one possession, 64-61.
Vic Moses and Allen combined for a 4-0 burst that had the
Tigers down one, but GC did not score again as Campbellsville's own 4-0 run
ended the game.
Monty Wilson and Allan Thomas led Georgetown with 14
each, while Vic Moses had 11 and Garel Craig 10.
Georgetown returns to action 7 pm Monday against
NOTES: GC's women lost as well, making it the first time
in more than a decade that both men and women lost at home on the same night.
