Women's Basketball - Fri, Dec. 21, 2012

Georgetown College women's basketball will finish the first portion of its rigorous schedule above 500 with a 68-61 win over NCAA Division II Puerto Rico Mayaguez. Devanny King found her rhythm after being sidelined much of the first half of the season with 15 points and nine rebounds. Lizza Jonas matched the effort with 15 and nine as well.

GC had five players in double-digits. Devon Golden and Lindsay Fultz each had 11, while freshman Haley Armstrong chipped in with 10.

"It was really good to see us respond after a rocky start in this tournament here," said Tiger coach Andrea McCloskey. "Devanny is getting back to form. She battled a foot injury that basically halts you from doing everything. When she was finally able to start up again, she had to work to get back into game shape. It was good to see that from her today."

Georgetown will take a quick break for Christmas before getting back in the gym to prepare for two tough games next week in Alabama.
