Opportunity slipped through the No. 12 Tigers (15-7, 9-4 MSC) fingers as No. 6 Cumberland University (21-1, 12-1 MSC) came to town for the Top 15 match-up. The Bulldogs staved off several rallies and pushed out late behind foul shooting for the final margin of victory 67-58.

Kourtney Tyra led the Tigers with 18 points, increasing her consecutive free throw streak to 38 straight – a growing Georgetown record.

Devanny King was the offense early and finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Lizza Jonas added 11 points, while Devon Golden finished with eight points and 10 rebounds. She is now eight rebounds away from being the 8th all-time leader in career rebounds.

Briannica Tye led with 20 points, while Jessica Pace, Josette Campbell and TaCouya Allen had 10 each for the Bulldogs. CU was hot from deep – 8-of-16 – while Tye was 4-of-6 from deep.

GC returns to action 2 pm Saturday against University of the Cumberlands on Alumni Day.
