No. 7 University of Pikeville came to Georgetown looking for revenge. What the fans got was one stellar game. The two Top 25 teams, Georgetown College is currently ranked No. 22, battled to the bitter end just as they did in Pikeville several weeks ago.
The Tigers (18-5, 10-5 Mid-South Conference) stayed in the game plan and in the end hit the shots to win 83-76 and pull within a half a game of the Bears (19-4, 10-4) in league standings.
Without Vic Moses for the entire second half, Georgetown found muscle from Deondre McWhorter, Montavious Marc and Corey Washburn.
Monty Wilson once again led the charge with 20 points and Garel Craig had 19, but it was a dunk from McWhorter that ignited the crowd and turned the tide. The freshman finished with 15 points.
Jamar Brisco poured in a game-high 26 points and Trevor Setty added 20 in his final time playing in Georgetown, where he started his college career.
Greg Magee came off the bench for 10 points for the final double figure scorer for UPike.
Georgetown returns to action 4 pm Saturday hosting University of Virginia College at Wise.
