Georgetown College football coach Bill Cronin has not achieved 155 wins in 16 seasons resting on his laurels. The Tiger program has become on the of the premier football teams through hard work and dedication, which begins with recruiting.
"I'm extremely pleased with the signing class we have for 2013," Cronin said. "The staff I've put together bust their tails, makes sacrifices to ensure we have top level players every year. This year is no different."
GC signed 35 thus far with a few more on the horizon.
To the top notch defense, the Tigers have 11 new athletes to mold into shutdown specialists. This side of the ball has been stellar the past two seasons, part of the reason Georgetown has risen back up in the coaches' poll and gone 20-0 in the regular season.
Offensively, the Tigers will add 19 new faces to the high-scoring mix. Georgetown has been one of the nation's leaders in scoring behind junior-to-be Neal Pawsat and a bevy of talented wide receivers and running backs.
Cronin also needed to address the graduation of his punter and place kicker. He is bringing in four players on his special teams.
When summer camp opens, Georgetown will have at least 35 new players to start shaping into guiding this program over the next several seasons. Defensively will be: Jaylan Bailey, T.J. Broadus, Brian Evans, Dustin Haraway, Nick Johnson, Kody Kasey, Michael Morton, Jordan Nicholl, Cade O'Bryan, Connor Owens and Elliot Rust, who can also play offensive line.
