Men's Basketball - Sun, Feb. 24, 2013

Lindsey Wilson College's men's basketball team continues to be a road block for Georgetown College. The No. 13 Tigers headed to Columbia, Ky. Saturday looking to hold on to the second seed for the upcoming Mid-South Conference tournament. Instead a 91-82 setback puts the Tigers (21-7, 13-6 MSC) in need of a win on Senior Night Monday against St. Catharine.

The No. 4Blue Raiders ran out of the gates and held a 17-point lead midway through the first half. However, in typical GC style, the men fought back and erased that for a four-point edge early in the second half.

Then LWC came back to life and put the game away. Allan Thomas led the Tigers with a career-night of 34 points and 12 rebounds. Vic Moses also chipped in a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Monty Wilson finished with 11 points.

Mychal Parker provided a shot in the arm early and finished with his best offensive night in a while with nine points, five assists and five rebounds.

But the Blue Raiders second chance opportunities and points off turnovers – GC had 20 miscues – were too much to overcome in the end.

GC finishes regular season play against the Patriots and will honor Moses, Thomas and Garel Craig before the game along with one dance senior. Tip is set for 8 pm.
