Georgetown College baseball faced a three-run deficit with just six outs left. The Tigers (26-14, 13-6 MSC) scored two in the eighth and one in the ninth to force extra innings against host Bluefield College. Two more runs in the top of the 10th and GC rallied for the 8-6 win over the Rams (17-22, 5-13) in the first of three games this weekend.

Matt Smith went eight innings and allowed four earned runs, six total, off seven hits with five strikeouts. Chris Villalobos came in the ninth, went two hitless innings with four strikeouts for the win. The Rams Zac Russell-Myers also came in for the ninth, gave up the tying run and the winning runs in the 10th to take the loss.

Justin Moore, Martin Lemus, Mike Steinke, Ryan Serrato and EJ Murray all had two hits. Steinke and Serrato each scored two runs, while Murray had four RBI.

These two teams square off Saturday in a doubleheader.
