Georgetown College volleyball set down another Mid-South Conference opponent in straight sets, beating University of Pikeville, 25-12, 25-11, 25-13 Wednesday evening in Davis-Reid Alumni Gym.
Caraline Maher continued her hot week, hitting .700 with 16 kills on 20 attempts. Freshman Ashlee Howe rocked the gym a few times with 7 kills on 11 attempts.
"It was a good night," said GC coach Nick Griffin. "We started conference 2-0. That's a start, but we have a long road, and we need to keep building up."
Lindsey Martindale (17) and Stephanie Gurren (14) led the way with assists, while Kristen Schellhaas added 15 digs.
Georgetown returns to the friendly confines of its home gym Friday and Saturday in the Rumpke Invitational. The No. 7 Tigers play at 1 and 7 pm and 11:30 am and 5:30 pm.
