Chaos abounds in the first NAIA Football Coaches Poll of the regular season. The Top 25 were released late Monday afternoon with only two teams hold the same position it did almost a month ago in the preseason poll.

One of those two was Georgetown College standing strong at No. 6 with 241 votes. No. 1 Morningside out of Iowa was the other.

Several large jumps occurred and University of the Cumberlands catapulted from No. 8 to No. 3 behind a 3-0 start to the season.

Grand View and Benedictine each took 10 poll spot jumps. Grand View went from No. 19 to No. 9 while Benedictine went from No. 24 to No. 14. No. 9 Bethel fell out of the poll completely and Faulkner University, Lindsey Wilson College and University of Pikeville all went from not ranked to No. 23, No. 24 and No. 25 respectively.

That gives the Mid-South Conference as a whole five teams in the Top 25 – four of which are in the East division. Cumberland University started the season in the Top 25 and fell out, while Kentucky Christian University (Georgetown's next opponent) is no longer receiving votes.
