Georgetown College women's soccer made one of its longest trips of the season Wednesday to play University of Rio Grande. The RedStorm (4-3, 1-0 Mid-South Conference) netted a free kick from roughly 30 yards out and the Tigers (1-2-1, 1-1) could never recover.

"We played well. It is just one of those quirky things that happens," said GC coach Leah Crews Castleman. "We pushed the attack and had many opportunities, but our old habit of not finishing reared its ugly head. Fortunately, it is early in the conference schedule and hopefully this makes us more determined and focused."

Georgetown had five shots on frame in the second half to Rio's zero, but could not find the back of the net. The team moves to sixth in the league standings. The Tigers return to action 3 pm Saturday at home against Midway College.
