Georgetown College women's soccer faced one of the most dominate teams in NAIA at a precarious time. Defending national champion Lindsey Wilson was coming off a regular season Mid-South Conference loss to then No. 11 Cumberland University. This meant the Blue Raiders (13-3, 7-1 MSC) could be very vulnerable or very determined. In the first 11 minutes, LWC netted its first of eight goals in the shutout win Tuesday over the Tigers.
"We felt good about the place in our schedule this game fell," said GC coach Leah Crews Castleman. "It's tough against Lindsey no matter what, but you have to up your game and take it to them."
Lindsey added two more goals before half and then five in the final 45 for the final margin of victory.
Danielle Lang saw most of the action in goal. The freshman had six goals scored on her and made three saves. Brittney Moshos stepped in with just less than 25 minutes to go, stopping one shot and allowing two goals.
Georgetown returns to action 1 pm Sunday hosting Point Park.
