Women's Cross Country - Sat, Nov. 9, 2013

Georgetown College women's cross country has been pacing themselves for Saturday's Mid-South Conference meet in Rio Grande.

The Tigers have found themselves in the recent coaches' polls receiving votes as they had several Top 10 finishes and a Top five mark in the final tune-up. Friday evening it was the hardworking student-athletes' academics that took center stage.

Mary Kate Dowdy, Marissa Hale and Kristen Just all hold a 3.25 grade point average or higher as sophomores or above class.

"It is important that we don't loss focus of why these young athletes come here," said GC coach Todd McDaniel. "The extra time at practices and traveling has to be balanced and I'm very proud of all my student-athletes. The classroom is their focus and hopefully Saturday we can also shake up the MSC a bit."
